The European market used to be saturated with numerous CBD products, many of which were produced in less than ideal conditions.
Because of the health risks posed to consumers, the European Parliament has implemented regulation mechanisms and effective control systems designed to select only CBD products that are safe for consumption.

Next step - Novel Food Authorization issued by EFSA
Products made with hemp-derived cannabinoids are subject to a new community regulation on novel foods.
In order to be legally used in foodstuffs, these novel food ingredients require approval from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
Through our key partnership with ACI – The Association for Cannabinoid Industry, QANNAQ has applied for EFSA Novel Food authorization. The process is rigorous and involves a series of complex analyzes for quality certification, as well as participation in research or experimental development activities. The scientific information obtained is then added to databases and technical libraries used to broaden the horizons of this rapidly developing field.
